Health and Human Services

The Health and Human Services facet promotes and facilitates programs that support the maintenance of good health and the elimination of chronic health disparities in Black communities through education, health advocacy, and optimal utilization of health resources. The Hendersonville Area (TN) Chapter has two (2) signature health service initiatives: Chew and Move, a free, high-energy event for youth ages 9-12 that encourages parents and children to participate in physical activities, focus on oral health and a healthy diet as well as fun children’s activities, and “Linking Together for Wellness,” a series of webinars designed to educate and address women’s health issues.  The webinars are free and open to the public.
